- Reddit thread URLs you submit for extraction
- Your search history and extracted maps
- Pages visited and features used

Publicly Available Reddit Content
Important: Threadmap LLC is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. We do not use Reddit's official API or maintain any business relationship with Reddit.
When you submit a Reddit thread URL, we process publicly accessible content that is freely available to any internet user without authentication. This publicly available information includes:
- Reddit usernames of commenters (publicly displayed on reddit.com)
- Comment text and upvote counts (publicly visible to all)
- Extracted place names and locations derived from public comments
We do not access private subreddits, direct messages, user account data, or any content requiring Reddit authentication. All content we process is identical to what any unauthenticated visitor can view on reddit.com. We do not store or redistribute Reddit content—we analyze it at user direction to extract location information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for:
- Providing and maintaining the Service
- Processing Reddit threads and extracting place recommendations
- Storing your search history for easy access
- Calculating tastemaker rankings based on public Reddit data
- Enforcing rate limits based on your account tier
- Improving and optimizing the Service
- Analyzing usage patterns to enhance user experience

- Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Threadmap:
Supabase
Database hosting and authentication. Your account data and search history are stored on Supabase's secure infrastructure.
OAuth authentication, Google Places API for geocoding, and Google Maps for display. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Anthropic
AI processing to extract place recommendations from Reddit comments. Comment text is sent to Anthropic's API for analysis. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
PostHog
Product analytics to understand how users interact with the Service. Subject to PostHog's Privacy Policy.
Vercel
Application hosting and CDN. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Regarding Reddit
Threadmap LLC is NOT affiliated with, partnered with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. We do not use Reddit's official API and have no business relationship with Reddit. We access only publicly available web pages on reddit.com—the same content visible to any unauthenticated internet user. Reddit is mentioned here solely for transparency about what public content our Service processes at user direction.
Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Search history: Retained until you delete your account
- Cached thread data: Automatically expires based on thread age (1-24 hours)
- Analytics data: Retained according to PostHog's data retention policies
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management
- Analytics cookies: Used by PostHog to understand usage patterns
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but this may limit your ability to use certain features of the Service.
