Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Threadmap ("the Service"), operated at threadmap.io and thm.sh, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Description of Service

Threadmap is a web application that transforms Reddit recommendation threads into interactive maps. The Service:

Processes publicly available Reddit threads submitted by users
Uses artificial intelligence to extract place recommendations from comments
Geocodes extracted places using Google Places API
Displays results on an interactive map
Tracks user search history and provides tastemaker rankings (Pro feature)

User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account using Google OAuth. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without permission
Use automated tools or bots to access the Service excessively
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
Submit malicious URLs or attempt to exploit the system
Resell or redistribute Service access without authorization
Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Threadmap LLC is an independent company and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with Reddit, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. The name "Reddit" and all related names, marks, emblems, and images are registered trademarks of Reddit, Inc.

Our Service does not store, host, or redistribute Reddit content. We provide a tool that helps users analyze and visualize publicly accessible information.

The Service processes only publicly accessible Reddit content that is freely available to any internet user without authentication. Specifically:

We access only public Reddit threads and comments that are visible to any unauthenticated visitor to reddit.com
We do not access private subreddits, direct messages, or any content requiring Reddit authentication
We do not claim any ownership, copyright, or intellectual property rights over Reddit content
All Reddit content remains the property of its respective authors and is subject to Reddit's User Agreement
We function as a tool that analyzes publicly available information at the user's direction, similar to a search engine or web browser
Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of the Service complies with Reddit's terms of service

By using our Service, you acknowledge that you are directing us to access and analyze publicly available Reddit content on your behalf. You represent that you have reviewed and will comply with Reddit's User Agreement and Content Policy.

Extracted Data

AI-extracted place recommendations are provided "as is" based on interpretation of Reddit comments. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of extracted information.

User Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by Threadmap LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute Service code or content
Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
Remove or alter any proprietary notices
Use Threadmap trademarks without permission

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

Google: Authentication, Maps, and Places APIs
Anthropic: AI processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or content.

Regarding Reddit: We are NOT a third-party partner, affiliate, or licensee of Reddit, Inc. We do not use Reddit's official API. Our Service accesses only publicly available web pages that any internet user can view. Reddit is listed here solely because our Service processes publicly accessible reddit.com content at user direction.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM:

Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
Warranties regarding accuracy of extracted place recommendations
Warranties regarding the quality, safety, or legality of any recommended places

Important: Place recommendations are extracted from user-generated Reddit comments using AI. We do not verify these recommendations. Always exercise your own judgment when visiting any location.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THREADMAP LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Any damages arising from your reliance on place recommendations
Any damages arising from third-party service interruptions

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Threadmap LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:

Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
We may delete your account and associated data
Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
